Mike O'Daniel
Guitarist Extraordinaire'
I was playing Brookside Inn in Waxahachie, TX in the mid 80's. I had a guitar player, Steve Rodriguez, who could put 15 chords in Your Cheatin' Heart.
Mike came in and watched us. He grinned and said "Joe, you couldn't find a guitar player?" I laughed and Steve grinned because we both knew it was a compliment.
Anyway, Mike gave me his phone number and said if I had a gig and Steve couldn't make it, call him. Well I was tickled for several reasons. I had always wanted to sing with Mike and, what with me living in Waxahachie at the time, it sure made a great guitar player handy.
A gig came along and I called Mike and we wound up playing a lot of gigs. I called us the B O Band for a while. But I decided that name stunk so we wound up being Two For The Show which is a name I kept when-ever I did a duo show.
